ERO publishes an annual report each year.
Our annual report sets out the operating context, our strategic direction, what we aimed to achieve over the previous 12 months, and what we did achieve.
It also outlines our role and the scope of our functions, reports on organisational health and capability, and includes our financial statements and service performance.

Te Ara Poutama is the core of Ngā Ara Whai Hui: Quality Framework for Evaluation and Improvement in Early Childhood Services. This is the framework for ERO’s approaches to reviewing early childhood services. The indicators, for outcomes and processes, are a central resource for use by ERO and the services themselves in evaluating quality in early childhood education and identifying where improvement is needed.

Quality early childhood education (ECE) affects how well all children do at school and in life – from academic achievement and earning potential to health and wellbeing. Quality ECE supports children to develop the social, emotional, communication, cognitive, and motor skills which enable them to thrive.
